Using the Level-Editor for Sound Environments

Hi everyone,

 

I am hoping to create/edit some EAX sound environments using the 0.4sdk level editor for a mod I am working on. Trouble is, despite all my effort, I can't import the maps into the editor to, well, edit them. I want to edit maps using the Gamedata folder which contains the assets for a mod I am working on.

 

Here has been my process so far, borrowing exclusively from this tutorial in Russian (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9Ok4ET9eTo&feature=channel_video_title):

 

1. Run xray 0.4 setup.exe

2. Map the X:\ drive

3. Run xray 0.3 patch

4. Run xray 0.4 patch

5. Copy entire gamedata folder from C:\programfiles\thq\etc to X:\ (this gamedata folder contains all assests from the mod I am working on)

6. Copy xray re-tools [10sep2008] update to the X:\ drive

7. Copy xray re-tools [20090708] update to the X:\ drive

8. Open X:\fsconverter.ltx, and change the $sdk_root$ to X:\

9. Repeat with X:\fsaiwrapper.ltx

10. In X:\converter.ini, change paths under [2947_config] to X:\gamedata\ and X:\gamedata\levels\

11. Run with the command: "X:\converter .....[need help here]"

 

I am really having trouble setting this up and am desperate for some help.

This is what I am trying now (to use the level editor)

 

1. Run xray 0.4 setup.exe

2. Map the X:\ drive

3. Run xray 0.4 patch

6. Copy xray re-tools [20090708] update to the X:\ drive

8. Open X:\fsconverter.ltx, and change to:

 

$sdk_root$ = false| false| X:\

 

9. Open X:\fsaiwrapper.ltx and change to:

 

$sdk_root$ = false| false| X:\

 

10. In X:\converter.ini, change to [2945_config], [2947_config] and [aitest_config] to:

 

$game_data$ X:\gamedata\

$game_levels$ X:\gamedata\levels\

 

11. Use Windows Compatability Toolkit [http://sdk.stalker-game.com/en/index.php?title=SDK_on_Windows_7]

 

12. In X:\gamedata\levels, make a bat file which reads:

 

@start converter.exe -level l01_escape -out l01_escape -mode raw -with_lods

 

13: Run converter.exe, located in in X:\gamedata\levels

 

14. Open the level|01_escape.level file found in C:\...\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\X-Ray SDK\

 

 

Is this correct? I still cannot get the level editor to work.
